Mario Kart 8 Wii U pre-orders are already sold out on Amazon after Nintendo recently announced the game's release date as May 30.

Mario Kart 8's Amazon page hits viewers with a message that reads, "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available," see it here.

Mario Kart 8's Wii U Racing Wheel is now available for pre-order ahead of the launch day for the much anticipated game.

Called the "PowerA" accessory, it encases the Wii Remote in the middle of it. The Racing looks just like a race car wheel and is white to match the consoles and its controllers.

According to Cinemablend, the wheel is only available in GAME stores in Europe right now, and is listed for £9.99. There does not appear to be any wheel pre-order options for North America.

It was recently announced that Mario Kart 8 will have some surprise characters added to the roster of racers - the Koopa Kids.

Mario's long time nemesis, Bowser, will have his kids join him on the racetrack. The mini Koopa's, Iggy, Larry, Lemmy, Ludwig, Morton, Roy, and Wendy will each have their own cars.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata made the May 30 release date announcement on the last Nintendo Direct conference.
According to Polygon, the May reveal pertains to a global release of the game. Previously all that was known of the game's release date was that it was coming in the spring.

This will be the beloved series' first foray into the next-gen Wii U, as new features such as anti-gravity will be implemented into a large racing world filled with vibrant backgrounds and all new courses.

At last month's Nintendo Direct, Iwata revealed a new trailer for Mario Kart 8 that showcased gameplay and stunning graphics.

The trailer also showed off some of the new vehicles in the game such as UFO's, ATV buggies, motorcycles, and more as the races now cover ground, air, and sea much like it did in N64 title Diddy Kong Racing.
