'Mario Kart 8' New 'Excitebike' DLC: Bonus Course Added to DLC Pack 1, Releases in November [VIDEO]

New information about an upcoming 'Mario Kart 8' DLC has been posted by Nintendo in a YouTube video. The new DLC bring into play an 'Excitebike' level that comes in DLC Pack 1, which releases in November 2014.

The first and upcoming DLC for 'Mario Kart 8' includes this "exciting" new track that's based off the classic NES title, 'Excitebike'. The new video showcases the course, and those familiar with the classic NES title quickly note that it closely resemble the courses in the 1984 NES game.

The course features the same type of obstacles and jumps that were seen in the classic game. Gamers can expect to traverse hills, steep incline jumps, and mud pits all while hurling red shells and dropping banana peels at their opponents.

'Mario Kart 8' will spin this 'Excitebike' based map as it implements the concept of usable items that was not seen in the 1984 motorcycle racing game.

Stepping into the other features that come with the DLC Pack 1, gamers can expect to download some new playable characters. The new characters that will come bundled with the new 'Excitebike' map are Link, Tanooki Mario, and Cat Peach.

Beyond that, another course has already been bundled with the aforementioned content. Players can expect to race on the new Yoshi Circuit.

Unfortunately, the new DLC packs are not free. However, on the bright side, there's going to be more DLC packs than the one highlighted above.

According to GameInformer, "The first Mario Kart 8 DLC, The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 is due in November for $7.99. The second pack, Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 will arrive in May 2015 for the same price. An $11.99 bundle is also available, unlocking eight new colors for Yoshi and Shy Guy."
