'Mario Kart 8' New DLC Release Date: 'Legend of Zelda'- Link's Master Cycle Available in November
'Mario Kart' fans became ecstatic as Nintendo recently revealed their plans for an upcoming 'Mario Kart 8' DLC, that launches in November. According to an official tweet by the video game company, Link's Master Cycle will be added to the 'Mario Kart 8' universe.
The official tweet from the Japanese videogame developer reads, "The Master Cycle is part of the first DLC pack for #MK8 and has plenty of horse power."
The Master Cycle, which Nintendo revealed last Wednesday, Oct. 15, is a surprising move since Nintendo is not known for including DLC in their first party releases. What's more is that they are adding a "non-Mario" character to the game.
The Master Cycle showcases Link's Hylian shield on the side of the motorcycle while the Triforce is incorporated in the design of the hubcap.
'The Legend of Zelda' series creator, director and producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that Link's new 'Mario Kart 8' motorcycle might be included in the upcoming game and other future Zelda games.
Aonuma said that Link's ride looked "cool" and plans to include the cycle in the other games he's currently working on, which is coincidentally 'The Legend of Zelda Wii U'.
"The development team showed me how the Master Cycle raced on the track, and I was overwhelmed by how great it looked. (It looked so cool that I also want it to appear in games I work on," Aonuma wrote.
Aonuma introduced the Master Cycle, which was "designed after a horse, so it's literally a horse of steel."
He went on to mention several of the motorcycle's features, including the ability to lean forward making sharp turns easy.
Aside from that, the motorcycle is reported to be bigger than other bikes, which means a bigger impression on the track.
On a side note, 'The Legend of Zelda' video game on Wii U will reportedly feature an open world game play style and is set to arrive in 2015.
