'Mario Kart 8' New DLC Update Details: All Courses, Characters, Vehicles, Circuits, Remastered Tracks & More

'Mario Kart 8' players can finally avail the new content promised to them by Japanese game developer Nintendo, in the form DLC. Nintendo has launched one of the two new DLC updates which features eight new and remastered courses, three new characters, and four new vehicles.

Players can purchase each individual DLC pack for $7.99, but purchase both of them as a bundle for $11.99. However, the second DLC pack will not be available until May, 2015.

Stepping into what's included in today's DLC release, gamers will now be able to play as Link, Tanooki Mario, and Cat Peach.

Evidently, there's somewhat of a cross over in video game universes as Link from the 'Zelda' series of games is a playable character in the Mario based game. What's more is that he did not come empty handed, as a new Master Cycle vehicle has also been implemented into the DLC, that matches his character.

On that note, the other vehicles that players will be able to choose after purchasing the DLC are Blue Falcon, B Dasher, and Tanooki Kart.

Pulling into the new tracks and courses, there's eight new tracks that have been added to the game, and they are split into two cups.

The new courses include the 'Excitebike Arena', 'Dragon Driftway', 'Mute City', 'Ice Ice Outpost', and 'Hyrule Circuit' while the remastered race tracks include 'Yoshi Circuit', 'Wario's Gold Mine', and of course- 'Rainbow Road'.

Moving into the next DLC, Nintendo has provided a preview of what players can expect in the upcoming content update that launches next year in May. While all the details (like the names of the courses) have not been completely revealed, the new characters have.

'Mario Kart 8' players can expect 'Animal Crossing' based characters to appear in the Mario universe when the DLC is launched. So far, the DLC adds the iconic Villager, Isabelle, and Dry Browser. While Dry Browser is not really from the 'Animal Crossing' universe, he seems to fit along with the other two character.
