Manny Pacquiao News Update: Next Fight Miguel Cotto? Man With No Boundaries

After regaining the WBO Welterweight Championship title against Timothy Bradley Jr, Manny Pacquiao did not seem to slow down. Pushing himself harder, he seeks more reverance in the acclaimed sport as well as with his new basketball team in the Philippines.

Who knew that an eight-time boxing Champion could be a basketball Coach? Pacquiao surprised everyone in a press conference recently, announcing how happily became the head coach of a newly-approved Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) team called Kia.

"I really like basketball. Even though I have many accomplishments in boxing, basketball is still in my heart," said Pacquiao to the press. Truly unstoppable, the boxing champion turned head coach is also balancing his time as a congressman in the Sarangani province of the Philippines.

"Just time management and self-discipline I'll be able to handle that," Pacquiao said. Although certain negative comments and critical views cannot escape the very active champion, the sports industry still wants Pacquiao to be involved in different leagues, due to his tremendous talent and his award-winning sportsmanship.

PBA league Commissioner Chito Salud praises the champion in a press interview, "But I think what we're missing here is what does Manny really bring to the table in so far as the PBA is concerned? Of course there's the wow factor, there's the point of interest, pulling power of Manny Pacquiao. But I want to emphasize that Manny is the embodiment of what the PBA is striving to stand for. And what is that? Highest degree of excellence and sportsmanship with regard to fan and public interest," he said.

There is surely more to look forward to in Pacquiao's continuing legacy, and many are wondering who will be his next opponent. Reports have claimed that Pacquiao has been making declarations that he hopes to face Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico in November.
