Manny Pacquaio vs Floyd Mayweather Fight Rumors: “Surprise” Fight in 2015? [VIDEO]
Even before the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquaio and the undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. hash out any details about their alleged fight next year, boxing analysts have already estimated that the highly anticipated fight would collect an average of $300 million.
As boxing fans have been talking about this legendary bout for quite some time now, the gears are beginning to turn as advancements in its planning have been made.
Recently, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has offered Mayweather and Pacquiao two choices for the fight, "There are two ways to go here. One is to do a Mayweather fight with both HBO and Showtime involved, as they did with Lewis-Tyson, as I understand Mayweather is under contract to Showtime through 2015. The companies could come together and put on the show. Or, the other alternative is, if Floyd wanted to fight Manny in 2016, he could return to HBO and we could do it there," according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Inside Fights reports that Arum has made mention that both camps are eager to formulate the fight and set it in stone with an exact date.
Arum said, "On our side the answer is yes [the fight can be made in 2014], we're very open to it. There are ways it can get done, they have to dumb down the rhetoric, and we are prepared to dumb down the rhetoric and get it done."
However, Mayweather has allegedly been evading a fight against Pacquiao since 2010, mainly owing to financial concerns and blood testing procedures.
On a positive note, Mayweather said he has a "big surprise" coming. Many fans hope this surprise...means a fight with Pacquiao.
