'Man of Steel 2' Actor Henry Cavill Praises Decision to Cast Ben Affleck as Batman

Though the decision to cast Ben Affleck as Batman in the highly anticipated Man of Steel 2, Henry Cavill who will be back as Superman thinks the "Fargo" director and former Daredevil actor has praised the decision and excited to act alongside him. In a recent interview with Total Film, Cavill opens up about Affleck's acting strengths and high-character resolve.

"I'm sure he'll be fantastic, above all else, and as a filmmaker he's got his own style, you know, he's not copying anyone else," Cavill noted. "And he's also sort of been tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character, and it's something I enjoy working with because jobs like this require a strength of character. They require a dedication to the work and a belief in oneself and Ben has that, clearly."

As for plot details no word has been confirmed as to whether Batman and Superman will be allies or enemies. Prepping for a Justice League franchise, rumors suggest Wonder Woman could be featured in Superman sequel.

Man of Steel is expected to hit theaters July 17, 2015.
