'Madden NFL 15' Review, Gameplay: Critics Applaud EA’s Efforts, Fans Less Enthusiastic

'Madden NFL 15', the newest addition to the American football franchise released by EA Sports a few weeks ago, has already received reviews from various critics. While several prominent gaming sites have published somewhat favorable reviews of the game, fans have expressed mixed opinions regarding their gameplay experience.

The 26th title of the franchise, "Madden NFL 15" was released by Electronic Arts on Aug. 26 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

Emphasizing on the defensive plays for 'Madden NFL 15', EA is optimistic that the game will brighten up the in-game moments when the player has to defend against the opponent. Both, the critics as well as the fans have observed the improvement on the defensive gameplay and have applauded the EA for its efforts in this regard.

Players familiar with the franchise are aware that playing on the defensive side is a bit chaotic and a bit of an odd job. Usually, players simply wait for their turn to have another go as the offensive side, since it's difficult to change the pace of the game on defense.

However, this year everything has changed. The first major difference is that a player can chose to lock in as a single player on the field, in other words taking control of players like JJ Watt or Richard Sherman, which tosses the camera back so it faces the quarterback. While it may seem to be somewhat of a small modification, it completely changes the way you play defense.

Nevertheless, a number of fans have given 'Madden NFL 15' a poor review, for instance one user named jermaine1122, on Metacritic, gave a the game a "zero" rating.

He wrote, "This feels like an older madden with new graphics. Actually I would take madden 05 over this game. If they want to fix anything fix your physics engine, it's so unrealistic. Maybe I'm asking too much, but for a huge company like EA sports it cannot be that hard. Long live NFL2K5!!"

However, in general, the game has been received well by and large, and has also garnered some positive scores. It averaged 82/100 on Metacritic, 7/10 on Gamespot, and an 8.7/10 on IGN.
