'Mad Men' Season 7 Release Date Spoilers: Premiere Episode Will Show Don Draper Face 'Irreversible' Consequences

Information is being leaked about the trails being blazed by our favorite characters in the final season of Mad Man - set for a premiere date in April or May this spring - and it looks like creator Matthew Weiner is dropping some spoilers as to the themes we might see being played with in the ultimate plot lines of the series.

The ominous sounding thematic spoilers might give us a clue as to where certain characters are headed, particularly the show's suave yet tragic protagonist, Don Draper.

Weiner gave an interview recently with TV Guide magazine and explained: "What this season is about thematically is: Are there consequences, and are they irreversible? What are the things that you do that you can't undo?"

This theme holds particularly true to the continuing decline of Don Draper, who has faced marital difficulties, as well as being put on indefinite leave by his partners at their shared advertising company.

Weiner elaborated: "There's a line in the opening episode: 'Have I broken the vessel?' And that's the question. Have you poured liquid out and have to refill it, or have you just destroyed it? I don't live in a world of regret, but I might imagine that Don Draper does. Or maybe it would be nice if he did."

The show will be breaking the final season into two parts, one airing in spring 2014, and the second installment of seven episodes a year later in 2015.

Weiner went on to reveal that fans can look forward to "pretty significant stories" in the plotlines of Don (Jon Hamm), Peggy (Elizabeth Moss), Pete (Vincent Kartheiser), Roger (John Slattery), and Joan (Christina Hendricks).
