‘Mad Men’ Season 7 Release Date, Spoilers: Exec Says No Plans for Spinoff?

"Mad Men' will come to an end in 2015, bringing a close to the saga of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and his protégé Peggy Olson (Elizabeth Moss).

In an interview with Deadline.com, Matthew Weiner, creator of "Mad Men', didn't let a single spoiler or teaser slip for the upcoming final episodes of the show next year. "Can't tell you that, you got to watch. You'll have to see how we bring it all together," said Weiner.

With regards to the fans' expectations for the end of the show, Weiner said, "We don't want to punch them in the face. We want them to walk away changed or better or at least entertained by it."

Weiner also added that when the show is done in 2015, it really is over, debunking rumors of a "Mad Men' spinoff. "Yeah, that's it. That's it. I love that people are trying to project and guess what the storytelling is. I'm writing the finale today as I was yesterday and its set in stone," admits the show runner.

The first half of "Mad Men' Season 7 ended on a strong note. The AMC show saw the characters united in watching one of history's greatest moments"”Neil Armstrong setting foot on the moon, July 20, 1969. The show also threw in the end of Don and Megan's bi-coastal marriage, the brilliant Burger Chef pitch delivered by Peggy Olson, and the sudden death of SC&P patriarch Bert Cooper. Moreover, the show ended with the rebirth of the agency in a buy-out deal planned by Roger Sterling, and an imagined song-and-dance rendition of "The Best Things in Life are Free" by Robert Morse and a Broadway-style chorus, which marked Bert's smiling farewell.

The second half of "Mad Men' Season 7 will air in early 2015.
