'Mad Men' Season 7 Release Date, Spoilers: Don Draper Searches for New Work Opportunities; New Season Might Not Turn Out Like 'We Expected'
In other news it looks like Christina Hendricks has some interesting things to say about this new season. As the new season approaches on April 13th, what kind of surprises can we look forward to from the cast and crew?
Don Draper might end up going through the wringer this season, as series creator and head-writer Matthew Weiner readily acknowledges that this season will be all about consequences. Draper has already made strides towards burning bridges with his wife, (Megan, played by Jessica Pare), and his kids, (having been caught by eldest Sally in the act of infidelity). And, has already previously been mentioned, he made a costly mistake gaffe with his company, which stopped just short of costing him his job. Working to pick up the pieces, TV Guide reports he now also seeks to find some "creative outlets," to keep active in the meantime.
What about the other characters though? Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Harris, made a remark to the Wall Street Journal that indicates that fans should expect to be kept on their toes: "I don't know if anything in the final season will turn out how we expected it to. [Creator] Matt [Weiner] always challenges what people expect." Even the cast can't claim to know about how things will ultimately come together (or fall apart), but we do know this: that it's going to be a surprising season, and we will continue biting our nails to see what happens in the final act as these characters' lives plays out.
