'Mad Men' Season 7 Release Date: Christina Hendricks Interview Bids Goodbye To Joan Harris As The Season Finale Approaches
As 'Mad Men' Season 7 is currently coming to an end, Christina Hendricks stepped up and revealed how she got the role of Joan Harris on the hit AMC series.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Hendricks shared the story about how she got involved with 'Mad Men' which has lasted for seven long season since its premiere in 2007. Hendricks, age 39, talked about how she dropped by her agency when she decided to join the cast, but was met with conflicting opinions that believed the show would not last very long.
"They said, 'It's a period piece, it's never going to go anywhere. We need you to make money and this isn't going to make money.' They ended up dropping me," the actress revealed in her interview.
Hendricks went on to talk about her role in the TV series, Joan Harris. The actress explained that she is overjoyed with the fact that many fans adore her character, and that she shares a lot of personal similarities with her on-air role.
"I've got a little sass in me... I probably tend to get my feelings hurt more. I tend to take things personally. But I can only take so much and then I jump back. I have strong survival skills," she confessed.
With nearly eight years under its belt, 'Mad Men' is looking at the light at the end of the tunnel as its seventh and final season is set for a Spring 2015 release date. The actresses concluded the interview by mentioning how the cast and crew were all reluctant to leave the set on their last day of filming, knowing that 'Mad Men' magic had come to an end.
