'Mad Men' Season 7 Details: Cast Member Christine Hendrix Opens Up About Her Character Joan and Show's Final Episodes

According Mad Men's Queen of Curve, Christina Hendrix, Season 7, the show's final batch of episodes, is going to be "crazy." Already two episodes in the books, Hendrix says the drama is more palpable than ever.

The actress who plays secretary turned partner, Joan recently dished some details about the upcoming season in an interview with the Toronto Star.

"It's crazy, it's mad, it's just what you'd expect it to be," Hendrix explained. "Every time a new script arrives we just fall on it and tear it apart looking for clues as to where our characters are going to wind up."

Hendrix opened up about how roles like her on a show like Mad Men are a one-in-a-lifetime chance, at best.

"It's rare, so rare to get a part like Joan," she told The Star. "Someone with so many different sides to them, and to get the chance to live with the story and character for eight years now.

The actress also highlighted the contrast between Don Draper's initial appeal as aconfident, suave and powerful man. With decision-making steeped in betrayal and selfishness over the last six seasons, Hendrix says he's not the character everyone wants to follow anymore.

"Don Draper? He made a habit out of behaving badly from day one and everyone thought it was so attractive and sexy and wanted to be like him. Now that his life seems to be falling apart, I don't think anyone wants to emulate him anymore."

Mad Men Season 7 returns with the first half of new episodes in spring 2014 on AMC. The final half will return the following year. A premiere date has yet to be confirmed.
