‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Movie Release Date, Star-Studded Cast Confirmed

An Oscar winner, a supermodel, and up and coming young actors are set to star in the fourth installment of the 'Mad Max' saga, minus Mel Gibson.

"Mad Max' began filming on January, with George Miller calling the shots. This time around, Tom Hardy will be playing Max Rockatansky, while Charlize Theron enthusiastically talked about the script and gamely shaved her head for her role as Imperator Furiosa.

According to Miller, "Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a war rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and the eyewitness accounts of those who survived."

The official story line released by production says that the movie shows "Max Max, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes that her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland."

"Mad Max: Fury Road' also stars Nicholas Hoult as Nux, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe, and Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as the wives are Zoe Kravitz as Toast, Riley Keough as Capable, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Splendid. They are also joined by catwalk regulars Abbey Lee Kershaw and Courtney Eaton, both of whom are making their big screen debuts. Also in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior.

"Mad Max: Fury Road' is set to premiere on the big screen on May 15, 2015.
