MacBook Air 2015 Specs, Release Date Rumors: Fan-Less Device Launching in 2015?

Apple is reportedly planning to release its thinnest Macbook Air yet, one with a 12 inch screen.

It will reportedly be smaller than the 13-inch MacBook and slimmer than the 11-inch laptop. To utilize the space, the device will reportedly have one USB Type-C port.

The port can be used in transmitting power that can reportedly accommodate several functions all at once. Rumors say that it will be faster and may replace the Thunderbolt Display port in the recent Apple laptops.

The keyboard reportedly serves as ventilation since there will be no fan. This would probably mean that the Macbook Air will run with Intel's Core M processor since it suits devices without fans.

The keys are also redesigned to be closer to each other. The function and arrow keys are now organized in a way that can fit the narrow design.

The track pad will also differ from the earlier MacBooks since it will reportedly not have the same functions.

Although the MacBook Air is smaller, the resolution is reportedly higher. There are reportedly four speaker grills located in between the screen.

Given all the features, Apple is reportedly calling the new laptop, MacBook Stealth, and will come in a space gray color.

Since there is a stiff competition for slimmer laptops, the Macbook Air may be more affordable to compete with Google Chromebooks and Windows laptops.

The 11-inch MacBook is now priced at $899 (since April 2014), but Apple may drop that amount to $799. This will give way for the MacBook Stealth to have a distinct price from the 11-inch model.

On a side note, the world's first thinnest MacBook was introduced by Steve Jobs on 2008. The production was discontinued in 2011 and was replaced with another MacBook Air.

Last but not least, the new slimmest Macbook yet will reportedly be released in the middle of 2015.
