Macbook Air 2014 Release Date Rumors: Features, Specs, Broadwell Chipsets
Now that the iPhone 6 and the new iOS 8 have been released, fans are looking forward to another upcoming Apple device, the MacBook Air 2014. While there is no official release date for the new notebook, rumor has it that it may hit the market by the end of the year.
However, other rumors say that the MacBook Air 2015 will be launched early 2015.
The current version of MacBook Air comes in two variants an 11-inch model and a 13-inch version. The new MacBook Air will strictly be released in a 12-inch, the best of both worlds.
Beyond that, the new notebook will have a Broadwell processor which will enable the device to be extremely thin, and incorporate the iconic Retina display found on many other Apple products.
Additionally, Apple is redesigning MagSafe and moving to USB Type C. Also, Air 2014 will be fanless, just like Microsoft Surface 3.
DigiTimes claims that the release date of the new MacBook Air 2014 heavily relies on the producton of Core M chips from Intel. Basically, if Intel stalls out and delays the production of their new chip, Apple will be forced to do the same with they new devices.
Talking to Apple Insider, KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuohas said that Retina Display are certainly the future of MacBook Air models and it is something to look forward to as the technology's "high resolution offers an outstanding visual experience."
In addition, it may come with the ultra thin chassis along with new Trackpad design will remove the need for the mechanical clicker see in older models.
It's important to note that these rumors and predictions have not been confirmed, nor have they been officially denied by Apple. On that not, Intel remains silent about the production of their chips as well, which leaves consumers in the dark about the highly anticipated MacBook Air 2014.
