Love Boat Star Gavin MacLeod Becomes Fan Following Cheri Keaggy Performance

Dove Award winner Cheri Keaggy recently got a blast from her childhood past when a favorite TV actor, Gavin MacLeod, who starred on the long-running TV series Love Boat, became a new Cheri Keaggy fan following the singer/songwriter's performance at Victory Christian Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

"You never know who you might be singing to," Keaggy says. "Boy, was I surprised to see Captain Stubing ofLove Boat fame sitting right there in the front row! I used to watch that show when I was young. After church, we were able to eat lunch with the MacLeods and hear more about their amazing story.

"Now, not only can I say, 'Captain Stubing gave me a standing ovation and bought my CD!' But, I can say we shared a meal, and talked about life and our mutual love of God as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ," Keaggy says, "and that was truly special."

Keaggy was at Victory Christian Center performing songs from her current CD, So I Can Tell. Prior to her performance, the singer/songwriter noticed MacLeod sharing the same pew as she and her father, Mike Anderson.

"I elbowed my Dad, saying, 'That's the Love Boat guy!," Keaggy says.

Keaggy currently is enjoying radio success with "There Will Be One Day," the current single from So I Can Tell. The song, penned by Keaggy, recently reached No. 6 on Christian Music Weekly's INSPO chart and No. 13 on Billboard's Christian Soft AC/INSPO chart.

So I Can Tell is available on Psalm 91 Records.
