Los Angeles attempt to win two in a row when the team faces Philadelphia tonight.
Lakers had a seven game losing streak prior to 119-108 win at Cleveland two nights ago. Los Angeles played with eight available players, but lost two more due to injury and had two players foul out of the game.
The Lakers were allowed to keep center Robert Sacre, who was charged with his sixth foul with 3:32 remaining, in the game for the reason that NBA rules require teams to always have five players on the court.
"It was interesting," said Lakers center Chris Kaman to reporters, who finished the game due to fouling out in 14 minutes added. "I don't think you'll ever see anything like that again."
In addition, rookie Ryan Kelly scored a career high 26 points.
Point guard Steve Blake recorded a triple-double when he totaled 11 points, 15 assists and tying a career high 10 rebounds in his second game back after missing almost two months with an elbow injury.
"When Steve Blake comes back, the whole atmosphere changes," said Lakers Head Coach Mike D'Antoni to reporters. "Last year, that was the guy that came back that got us on our run last year. He comes back now, and makes the two daggers at the end of the game."
Steve Nash turns 40 today.
Despite Wednesday's win, Lakers are 4-19 in its last 23 games.
The 76ers are also playing terrible, losing 14 of its last 17 games.
Philadelphia is looking stop 4 game losing streak after a 114-108 loss to the Celtics two nights ago. Seven 76ers scored in double digits highlighted by Thaddeus Young scoring 20 points and Tony Wroten scoring 18 points off the bench.
"We've shown the ability, sometimes, to do it on that end of the floor, other times we've shown a big disinterest," said 76ers' center Spencer Hawes to reporters added. "It's something that we have to keep emphasizing, and it's either going to set in or it's not."
Philadelphia's 6 game home losing streak is the most since setting a franchise record 12 consecutive losses in 1996-97.
The 76ers have recently won three of four against the Lakers, including a 111-104 road win on Dec. 29 behind a combined 47 points effort by Young and Evan Turner.
