The Grizzlies are competing for another Western Conference playoff berth due to their recent success at home.

The Grizzlies, though, will get fewer chances to play on their court in the second half of the 2013-2014 season and will attempt to take advantage of a visit from the slumping Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.

Memphis seemed that it might fight to obtain a playoff spot for the fourth consecutive year in a row after a 15-19 start, but it has won 16 of their last 21 games since, including nine of its last 11 games at home. That surge has launched the Grizzlies within 1 1/2 games of the Phoenix Suns for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference.

However, the Grizzlies will play 16 of its last 27 games on the road and will have only nine games at home after this weekend. The Grizzlies will attempt to earn a season high-tying fourth game winning streak at FedExForum by giving the Lakers to their 26th loss in their last 32 games.

The Los Angeles were destroyed by the final score of 118-98 versus Eastern Conference leading Indiana Pacers last night. With a career-high 23 points, recently acquired forward Kent Bazemore was the lone Laker to score over 15 points yesterday.

Bazemore was part of a three-player trade with Golden State last Wednesday, and his brand new club only scored 16 points in the third quarter Tuesday night.
