The Los Angeles Lakers (21-41) will play against the Denver Nuggets (26-34) at the Pepsi Center tonight in Denver.

Infamous milestones continue to add up in a terrible season for the Los Angeles Lakers, and another defeat tonight would also make them have their first losing season in nine years.
The Denver Nuggets have not played well lately, but they might take advantage of the Lakers' defensive woes tonight in Denver.
Los Angeles will not finish with the worst record in Lakers history, with that infamous record belonging to the 1957-58 Minneapolis Lakers that finished the season with a 19-53 record. Nevertheless, they will have to play at least .500 or better the final 20 games to avoid tying their worst season record since moving to Los Angeles. The 1974-75 Lakers were 30-52.
Aside from an unlikely run along with plenty of help of team falling out of playoff contention, the conference-worst Lakers will most likely miss the playoffs for only the sixth time in franchise history.
Last night, the Lakers were embarrassed when they were utterly defeated by the final score of 142-94 by their rival Los Angeles Clippers at their home, the Staples Center. In addition, it was the biggest lopsided loss in Lakers history. They allowed the Clippers shoot 55% from the field, and opponents are scoring at least 116.9 points per game on 48% shooting during a 3-7 stretch.
"We got beat by 48. It's not fun," said Jodie Meeks, who only scored seven points after averaging 19.8 on 65% shooting over his previous four games adding. "Regardless of whether it's a record-breaking performance or not, it is still frustrating. It's not fun getting blown out at any level, but especially on national TV and in front of the world. We have to have more pride than that. I do not think the Clippers are 48 points better than us."
Denver has struggled lately as well, however, they scored 41 first-quarter points Wednesday night in a 115-110 victory versus Dallas Mavericks. It was only its 2nd win in their last 13 games. The Nuggets were 11 of 24 from 3-point range after shooting 29% from behind the arc in their previous four games.
