Los Angeles Lakers News, Rumors 2014: LA to Trade Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer, or Steve Nash

The L.A Lakers are struggling this season with just four wins under their belt and it looks like they will need to make some tough decisions if they want to turn this around. Specifically, trade deals involving valuable names like Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer, and Steve Nash, have come up as possibilities in changes to the roster.

On that note, Lin calls Los Angeles' current losing streak, "one of the toughest situations I've been in."

Lin is in a slump this season, averaging six points and 4.6 assists and only shooting 28.6% of the time. Coach Byron Scott told the Los Angeles Times, "he's just been up and down. Sometimes he has nights like this."

"Nights like this" refers to a particularly painful loss in a 91-110 game against the Indiana Pacers. Although Lin was portrayed as a player with great potential, he has mentioned feeling "more and more like a one-year rental."

December 15th was the first day that some of the Lakers could be moved. For now, the three major players, Lin, Boozer, and Nash, will essentially audition for their spot after the unfortunate year.

According to ESPN reporter Marc Stein, the Lakers are listening to offers and are hoping to get a new game-changer, or risk losing the season. Some target names they are looking at include Rajon Rondo, Marc Gasol, and Greg Monroe.

On the other hand, a few players have been making great leaps and bounds in the game. Wayne Ellington, #2 of the LA Lakers, has become a valued player on offense, averaging 6.4 points in about 17 minutes of action. Scott praised his play this season and it looks like he's here to stay.
