"It has been a while, so I was pretty excited to do that. It can be tough to hit home runs here at times, but it looked like the ball was carrying a little bit tonight."

The Tigers are looking to winning the first game of the two game series against the Dodgers tonight. The Tigers were defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the final score of 3-1 on Sunday. Detroit's ace pitcher Justin Verlander (0-1) got the loss for the Tigers when he opposed Orioles starter Chris Tillman (1-0) two days ago. The Tigers are hoping tonight's starter Max Scherzer will out duel Dodgers starter Dan Haren when the two men oppose each other tonight.

"It's a work in progress," said Tigers pitcher Scherzer to reporters in reference to batting at Dodgers Stadium tonight. "When (Interleague Play) comes this early in the season, you've got to get rid of your golf swing. I've got to realize that I'm not coming around the ball anymore. I'm staying inside the ball."
