The Los Angeles Lakers will go toe-to-toe with the Los Angeles Clippers on January 7 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The Lakers (11-24) are looking to halt a potential two game losing streak when they clash with their crosstown Southwest rivals Clippers at the Staples Center.

Previously, Los Angeles lost to the Portland Trail Blazers by a final score of 98-94 on January 5 after Lakers center Jordan Hill had 23 points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.

"He got hot, definitely, and we didn't do a good enough job of disrupting him. I've got to do a better job of making his life more difficult," said Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin to reporters in reference to Trailblazers All-star point guard Damian Lillard scoring 39 points versus Los Angeles in the aforementioned game.

Meanwhile, the Clippers are trying to prevent a potential two game losing streak when they battle for bragging rights against their longtime foes on Wednesday evening.

"If we knew exactly what we need to address," said Clippers power forward Blake Griffin to reporters.

"It's just not something we can snap our fingers and fix."

Previously, the Clippers were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 107-98 on Monday night after Griffin had 26 points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

"Right now, Atlanta has unshakable confidence," said Clippers head coach Doc Rivers to reporters.

"We missed a lot of open shots and were very lax with the ball. We lost the game because we turned the ball over and gave them easy shots. We were forcing a lot of passes."
