Ella O'Connor, better know as 'Lorde' on stage, is the Switzerland 16 year old girl that has completely taken America by storm. The young artists new song "Royals" debuted at No. 1 on the New Zealand Top 40, as well as, hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first New Zealand solo artist to have a number one song in the United States. The singer originally got her start when she was 12 at a talent show competition in her hometown. Ella, caught the attention of A&R scout Scott Maclachlan, who quickly got her a spot at Universal Studios and was creating songs by the time she was 13.
The young, ridiculously talented, New Zealand girl created her first five track EP called "The Love Club", which was released in November of last year. The EP five track consisted of her current hit song "Royals" which sold over 60,000 copies in the first year. From having a large amount of praise with her EP, Ella went on to produce her first studio album "Pure Heroine", which released on September 27th this year. The album has already gone New Zealand Platinum and is still continuing to raise in the US charts. The 16 year old obvioiusly has a dream of becoming a huge Pop star because she is well on her way.
