“Brand New Hallelujah” Introduces Lisa McClowry to a New World of Christian Music Listeners
Coming to the attention of the Christian music world from mainstream and gifted with a four octave range and a signature vocal style that bespeaks the worldclass talent she has become, Lisa McClowry is currently reaching a new world of listeners with her debut single release in the Gospel/Inspirational market -"Brand New Hallelujah."
Released independently by the Nashville based HMG music complex, "Brand New Hallelujah" is showing major connectivity with Christian programmers nationally. The song is also the first video release from Lisa's latest album, Lisa McClowry Sings Acoustic Alchemy, the ambitious and inspiring collaboration between artist and the British instrumental guitar duo legends behind Acoustic Alchemy -- Greg Carmichael and Miles Gilderdale
For the artist, the inspiration behind releasing the new single is a very personal one. Growing up in Chicago in the nurturing environment of a loving Irish Catholic family, Lisa admits to deep roots of faith that have sustained her throughout her life. She openly gives God the total glory for the gift of music that has been so lavishly given to her.
She feels "Brand New Hallelujah" was yet another creative gift. "The song is adapted from the instrumental song 'Passionelle' and I was in love with the melody even before I heard the lyrics," Lisa noted in a recent interview. "To me, every day is a reason for a 'brand new hallelujah'-it's a message of hopefulness that I think is universal."
With strong career credits in the sophisticated world of jazz, Lisa has continually surprised and delighted her ever expanding world of listeners with her stylistic, versatile and seemingly effortless transitions into pop, R&B, blues, country-and now gospel-formats.
Central to this, her latest season of music, is Lisa's celebrated creative recording/production relationship with legendary Grammy and Oscar winning singer/songwriter Jim Peterik whose lasting niche in music history credits him with founding roles with super rock groups The Ides of March and Survivor, as well as writing credits for the memorable mega hit of movie origin-"Eye of the Tiger."
A self admitted "bit of a chalemeon," Lisa's career interests away from the live performance stage she loves have taken her into the recording studio for projects as diverse as the artist herself! She has been the voice behind national commercial campaigns for major advertisers such as Applebee's ("Eating Good In The Neighborhood") and TRESemme hair products ("TRESemme, ooh la la!"). She has also been involved with film work, including the fun creative stretch of co-writing a song for the animated "The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle." as well as her soundtrack voice work credits for "Rugrats In Paris: The Movie," for which Lisa supplied the character voice work for The Princess.
Ahead for her are continued off spins of the Acoustic Alchemy project that are attracting the attention of widening audiences in the mainstream music world--as well as the excitment of seeing "Brand New Hallelujah" connecting with Christian radio.
In the midst of a worldclass career across genres, Lisa McClowry is especially thrilled by the embrace of her talents in the Christian market . As she notes: "I grew up listening to wonderful artists such as Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant so there's something to me about the Christian music world that feels very much like home."
