Lil Wayne Coma Rumors Spark Twitter Buzz

Contrary to recent death speculation, rapper Lil Wayne is alive and well. According to bogus news outlets like TMZ, the rapper suffered seizure-like symptoms caused by an overdose of Wayne's favorite alcoholic drink, Sizzurp, leading to his death.

On Friday night, the rapper tweeted from the hospital he was in "good" condition.

The Wayne network has also jumped on to social networks trying to calm down the situation.

"Wayne is alive and well," said Mack Maine on Saturday. "We will be releasing an official statement shortly, but don't believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe...that's false."

One of Wayne's publicists did confirm to NJ.com that the rapper did suffer a seizure but did not elaborate on anything more serious.

Did Wayne fall into a coma? According to Wayne's reps the media has once again exaggerated the truth. But according to medical professional Dr. Phil Dembo, the concetration and frequency that Wayne uses Sizzurp, "should have killed him."

"It's like drinking poison," Dembo told Hollywoodlife.com. Prevalent in the hip-hop community, Sizzurp is a dangerously addictive drug.

Wayne has always had problems with drug and alcohol use and spoke freely about his difficulty overcoming addictions in a 2008 MTV interview.

"Everyone wants me to stop all this and all that. It ain't that easy - feels like death in your stomach when you stop doing that s**t. You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox. You gotta do all kinds of stuff. Like I said, I'm selfish. I feel like everything I do is successful and productive. It's gonna be hard to tell me I'm slipping."
