There were rumors about One Direction's Liam Payne breaking up with Sophia Smith, but it seems like they are not true as the singer recently defended their relationship on Twitter. He went on to mention how swimmingly their relationship is going as well.

A couple of Twitter fans tweeted Payne about the rumors concerning him and Smith's relationship. Even though the 1D star has a busy schedule, he found the time to response to some of them.

"Why did Liam give Sophia a shoutout. Nobody cares," one Twitter fan posted. To which Payne responded, "I do," with an added winky face.

Another user posted, "Liam and Sophia's relationship is so weird bc he draws so much attention to it but there's no way he's as into her as he was with Danielle [SIC]."

Payne responded with a touch of wit saying, "And the person with the most far away from the truth comment goes to..."

Fans will have to watch out for more Twitter action from the One Direction band member, as it seems as though he's very valiant in his efforts to defend his lady. Since he's been commenting on negative tweets from fans about his relationship, many fans believe that his love for Sophia Smith could be the real deal.
