LG Optimus G Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 2: Specs, Camera, Processor / Optimus Pro Beats Note II in Every "Phablet" Category [VIDEO]
It's a phone. It's a tablet. No. It's a "phablet."
I'll admit when the early days of the "phablet" I couldn't really see the value of the oversized smartphones. I was an Apple purist. If you want a big screen buy an iPad. If you want a smaller screen buy an iPhone.
If you don't want either, companies like Samsung and LG may have just the device for you. Two the best phablets on the market are the LG Optimus G Pro vs. Galaxy Note 2.
The dimensions of the two handsets are marginally different. The Optimus G Pro may have a slight edge, being 6 percent narrower than the Note II. The height and thickness are almost identical. The Optimus G Pro is also 6 g (0.21 oz) lighter than the Note 2. If you're in the market for a phablet you probably don't mind a little weight. These are just the specs. DO with them what you will.
Both plastic phablets have 5.5-inch displays however the Optimus G Pro has far better screen resolution. The LG phone has a 1080p display (1920 x 1080, 401 ppi) while the outdated Note II only supports 720p (1280 x 720, 267 ppi).
Again the LG Optimus G Pro beats out the Note II in the processor category as well. Though the Galaxy Note 2's Exynos 4412 quad core, 1.6GHZ is smooth and efficient, the Optimus G Pro features one of the top CPU's in the game: Snapdragon 600 quad core 1.7GHz. Both phones come with 2 GB of Ram each.
Continuing it's specs and features slaughterfest, the Optimus G Pro boasts a 13MP rear-facing camera and 2.1 front facing for video chats. The Note II is still stuck in 2012 with an 8MP rear and 1.9 MP in the front.
In conclusion, to compare these phones is senseless. The LG Optimus G Pro is a 2013 phone, while the Galaxy Note 2 is last year's model. Samsung is expected to announce some details regarding the Galaxy Not 3 sometime in August or September.
