LG G3 vs iPhone 6 Plus Review Comparison: Which Smartphone is a Better Buy?
A lot has been said and written about the iPhone 6 Plus since it was unveiled some time back. Nevertheless, tech enthusiasts have been constantly comparing the latest smartphone from Apple with its Android competitors, including the LG G3. Below is a brief comparison between the two devices.
Display
In terms of the display size, the LG G3 comes with a 5.5-inch true HD-IPS LCD touchscreen having a 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution screen, which puts it at 534 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 comes in two variants and both have the Retina display.
The 4.7-inch variant is called the iPhone 6 and it has a screen resolution of 1337 x 750, whereas the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus has a full HD screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. Despite the Retina display, the G3 still beats both variants of the iPhone vis-Ã -vis the screen resolution.
Hardware
As far as the hardware is concerned, the LG G3 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor together with an Adreno 330 GPU. The 16GB variant of G3 comes with a 2GB RAM, while the 32GB variant has 3GB of RAM.
On the other hand, both iPhone variants sport the new second generation 64-bit A8 chipset alongside an M8 motion coprocessor. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with three internal memory variants, the 16GB, the 64GB, and the 128GB. In terms of RAM, Apple retains the 1GB RAM that also features other phones in the iPhone lineup.
Operating System
The LG G3 runs on Google's Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat), whereas the iPhone 6 Plus is powered by Apple's latest mobile operating system iOS 8.
Camera
The LG G3 sports a 13-megapixel camera, while the iPhone 6 Plus comes with an 8-megapixel camera that is similar to that of the iPhone 5S. The G3 is equipped to take photos and capture clips of higher quality and allows users to shoot 4K videos. The iPhone 6 Plus camera does not come with these features. Nevertheless, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with faster auto-focus and wide angle lens.
Price
Both the LG G3 as well as the iPhone 6 Plus are quite expensive smartphones. While the LG G3 is being retailed for around $750, the iPhone 6 Plus comes for $650.
