LG G Pad 10.1 Specs and Features Rumors: Camera Details and Smart Keyboard
Last June, LG released the latest in their G Pad series out on the European market, the G Pad 10.1. As it stands, the 10.1 is the largest in the series, sporting a namesake 10.1-inch screen.
Currently, the tech giant is facing strong competition in the tablet market. Apple leads the way with its iPad, but when it comes to Android tablets, Samsung holds the crown. LG is also preceded by other brand names like Asus, and Lenovo, making their way up the hill all the more difficult.
The 10.1 comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 1GB RAM, and a full 1200 x 800 resolution display. It has a 5MP rear-facing camera and can record full HD 1080p resolution videos. The front-facing 1.3MP camera can take 720p resolution videos.
The specs may not look appealing, but a number of features makes the G Pad 10.1 unique from other tablets.
The G Pad sports a KnockCode Security feature that's similarly found in its smartphones. The feature allows users to unlock the tablet with a quick succession of taps.
What's more, the tablet can remember up to four different taps sequences, which means that up to four people can use the same tablet without having to disclose their security taps.
Another feature is the Smart Keyboard feature which learns from the user's typing habits. From there, the tablet will then predict what the user intends to type, making typing somewhat easier and faster.
A feature that was also borrowed from LG's phone line is its Dual Window mode which splits the screen into two parts, allowing users to use two apps at the same time.
Even with all these unique features, many say LG still has a long way to go before it can compete with the leading brands.
