Legend of Zelda Wii U Release Date: Will Appear 2015 (GAMEPLAY TRAILER VIDEOS)

At the E3 event, Nintendo announced a brand new "The Legend of Zelda" game coming exclusively for the Wii U next year.

At the press conference, Nintendo Producer, Eiji Aonuma showed the difference in gameplay between the future Zelda game as compared to the original "The Legend of Zelda" game that was released in 1986.

In addition, he went on about how the later 3D Zelda games, such as the popular "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" were way more linear and less free roaming than its 2D predecessors. However, Eiji Aonuma revealed in the video that upcoming game would be a "vast world," just like the smash hit game "Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past" that was originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (aka SNES) back in 1991.

"It is a clean break from the convention of past games in Zelda series where you had to follow a set path and play through the scenario in the right order. I believe this departure will create opportunities for new gameplay that was not experienced in recent Zelda games," said Aonuma in the video referring to the player having the ability to free roam instead of being limited to where a player can go in a 3D world.

In the video, Aonuma also warned gamers that the beautiful and quiet setting is not what it seems.

"As you can see and as you know from the Zelda series the world in these game can be quite peaceful. However, it is a Zelda game, so strong enemies will certainly appear even in this setting. Powerful enemies appearing in such a peaceful world is one of the defining features of the Zelda series," said Aonuma in the E3 video when the announcement was made. "I think that's one convention we [should] keep, right?"

"The Legend of Zelda Wii U" is expected to arrive on Nintendo's latest video game console in US stores in 2015.
