Legend of Zelda Wii U Release Date, Gameplay Rumors: Link’s Different World, Game Launch Delay

During the last Nintendo Digital Event at E3, the Japanese game developer announced that they would release 'The Legend of Zelda' for Wii U in 2015. However, latest rumors suggest that the release of this highly-anticipated fantasy themed action-adventure game will be delayed as Nintendo is now concentrating on 'Pokemon', 'Hyrule Warriors', and 'Super Smash Bros' titles.

Despite the rumors about a delay, fans are yearning for updates about the upcoming game.

Earlier, it speculated that the Wii U version of 'The Legend of Zelda' will feature a much "broader, open world" suggestive of the open-world titles such as 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' and 'Grand Theft Auto V', which allows the players to "randomly roam along the countryside" and come across "randomized activities."

Different from what many players have been expecting, Link's world in the game will be different.

Shedding some light series producer Eiji Aonuma told the Edge Magazine, "Since we're talking about open worlds, let's state upfront that we don't plan to have an open world in the same way other companies have been doing in recent years."

In fact, as of now, only Nintendo knows the approach they are taking with the upcoming game. Meanwhile, an article by Game Revolution hints that Nintendo may look to previous titles for the help with the direction of the game.

The article read, "Perhaps we'll see an open world more akin to the original 'The Legend of Zelda' or even the recent 3DS title 'A Link between Worlds'."
