Legend of Zelda Release Date, Latest News: 'Hyrule Warriors' Type Cutscenes & Open World Gameplay, 2015 Launch

If the rumors circulating on the Internet are to be believed, the ensuing 'The Legend of Zelda' video game on Wii U will feature an open world gameplay style. Although there is no official information yet, the upcoming Zelda game is set to have a 2015 release date.

A recent report by Movie Pilot says that the game developers have been working out to begin featuring the game in an open world environment.

In a recent interview, series creator Eiji Aonuma revealed, "It's something we've wanted to do for a long time in 'The Legend of Zelda' series and so development began with this as our focus. The earlier releases of 'The Legend of Zelda' games players got to explore a wide area scrolling up, down, left and right. However, after the game transitioned to 3D and the hardware began to evolve, it became harder to create that feel of being in a vast world."

In addition, Aonuma also disclosed to NintendoLife that the forthcoming Zelda collaboration game in Wii U will comprise numerous detailed cutscenes, which will definitely be enjoyed by players. On a side note, he said that the recently released game, 'Hyrule Warriors', is actually a crossover between 'The Legend of Zelda' and 'Dynasty Warriors'.

Meanwhile, an article posted by Attack of the Fanboy says that as Aonuma was inspired with the cutscenes featured in 'Hyrule Warriors', he would like to bring all the good stuff into the new Zelda game on Wii U, which is currently in development.

The completely new 'The Legend of Zelda' game is an action-adventure video game created by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development exclusively meant for the Wii U gaming console, which is manufactured by Nintendo. When the game is released in 2015, it will serve as the 18th installment in the popular The Legend of Zelda series.

According to Aonuma, the upcoming Zelda game will enable players to have more liberty in moving around and choosing paths that they want to pursue in the game.
