Hyrule Warriors Release Date: Legend of Zelda Spinoff Coming September 26 (TRAILER)

Legend of Zelda Hyrule Warriors is launching on September 26 for the Wii U, Nintendo announced yesterday at the E3 Conference.

Hyrule Warriors will have similar gameplay to Dynasty Warriors and be sort of an open world mass fighting game with non-stop action. Main character Link will take on hordes of enemies instead of his usual puzzle, strategy, and carefully calculated fight type games.

"Since this collaboration was a first of its kind, we were able to make it a great game that's like a celebration of both franchises," said Hisashi Koinuma, general producer on Hyrule Warriors at developer Tecmo Koei Games on the game's similarities to Dynasty Warrior.

The game was first revealed in December during a Nintendo Direct conference by Satoru Iwata. Important to note is that the game will follow none of the storylines of the previous Legend of Zelda games and is an original quest on its own.

Hyrule Warriors will be released on August 14 on the Wii U in Japan. According to Famitsu, it will have the title of Zelda Musou internationally.
Aside from Link, the other playable character is Midna, who is the imp character from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Zelda will also be a playable character, and the game will feature a two player mode, one using the television and another the console's GamePad.
