Legend of Korra 3 Premiere Ratings News: Season 3 Ratings Prove to Be the Most Dismal
A recent announcement on the official The Legend of Korra Facebook page confirmed that Nick (Nickelodeon Television Network) will re-air the first three episodes of the animated series, beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on July 4.
In fact, 8:00 pm EST is the same time-slot as the original airing of Legend of Korra Season 3 premiere, which had the worst reception in the Nick series' history. It is believed that Nick is re-airing the three episodes with the hope to garner some additional bang for their buck out of The Legend of Korra Season 3's first three episodes this Independence Day.
As per the announcement on Facebook, the show's episodes will be aired on July 4 and include, "A Breath of Fresh Air," "Rebirth," and "The Earth Queen." While Season 3's episodes of The Legend of Korra are yet to be made available online, the network already has all the episodes from season one and season two online.
Meanwhile, Zap2It reports that while episodes 1 and 2 - "A Breath of Fresh Air" and "Rebirth" got 1.504 million viewers, the rating of episode 3 "The Earth Queen" was very dismal with just 1.298 in ratings. What's interesting is that these ratings match that of "The Last Airbender" which recieved a mere 1.10.
If we make an overall comparison, Season 1 of The Legend of Korra received a 4.55 rating, while the rating of Season 2 was lower, at 2.6 million viewers.
It is believed that the rating of The Legend of Korra Season 3 has been poor mainly because its air date was announced just a week before the telecast.
After airing the first three episodes of the series on the Independence Day, Nick will air a two episode special of the show, next Friday.
