'Legend of Korra' Book 4 Recap, Spoilers, Predictions: 'After All These Years' Kuvira Uses Bandits?

'The Legend of Korra Book 4: Balance' premiered its first episode, entitled, 'After All These Years', on Friday Oct. 3. The fourth season of the hit Nickelodeon anime begins three years after the Book 3 finale.

'After All These Years' opens up with a narrator who informs the viewer about everything that has happened since Book 3. First, Republic city has improved over the last three years, as Air Temple Island now serves as a hub for airbenders. They are free to travel the world now helping others with their air bending abilities.

Korra has been away from the city for three years as she recovers, and the part of the city that was damaged by Spirits is now one of its highlights.

In the beginning of the episode President Raiko publicly thanks Asami and Future Industries for their help in modernizing Republic City and updating their train terminal.

The President introduces the new crown to the Earth Kingdom, Prince Wu (great-nephew of the former Earth Queen who was killed by Zaheer in Book 3).

Behind the Prince in the crowd, stands Mako, acting as a bodyguard, and Lin. After the ceremony, viewers learn that Korra will be coming back to Republic City, which has everyone very excited.

After that Kai and Opal, flying on sky bison, encounter some bandits trying to ransack a small Earth Kingdom town. With their new and improved airbending skills, they handle the bandits quite quickly.

While the Governor of this small town thanks the pair, he asks where the rest of their reinforcements are. Opal says "the Air Nation is spread pretty thin right now," they're the only two at the moment.

Kuvira then comes into the episode and makes the statement that she won't rest until "the Earth Kingdom is one hundred percent reunited."

After that, bandits attack the train they're on, but Kuvira quickly puts a stop to that with small metal plates she keeps in her suit. She then tells the bandits that they can either join her in her conquest, or wait for the next train.

It seems like the bandits have heard of her and her reputation, because they agree to join forces as they pledge allegiance to their "Great Uniter."

Another big spoiler for the episode is that Kuvira confirms that she will be getting married to Baatar.

Toward the end of the episode, Korra is finally shown. While everyone in Republic City is waiting for her to arrive, the episode cuts to her losing to a female fighter somewhere in an Earth Kindgom town.

The episode closes with a man who gives Korra some money for her "lackluster participation," and says she looks familiar, like the Avatar girl. When Korra is asked what happened to that girl, she replies, "I wouldn't know."

Stepping into predictions, one of the most popular concepts was posted by a Reddit user in an official episode discussion thread. He or she wrote, "Anyone else get the feeling it'll be revealed that Kuvira is using bandits to put pressure on the earth kingdom states to force them to ask her for help?"

Many users found this to be a logical route for the Book 4 storyline, however, that idea is still unconfirmed.

Episode 2 of 'The Legend of Korra' Book 4 airs Friday, Oct. 10 on Nick
