The popular "Left Behind" movie trilogy is being rebooted with a brand new all-star cast. The new film stars Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray, Cassi Thomson, Nicky Whelan, Jordin Sparks, Lolo Jones, and "Back to the Future" star Lea Thompson to name a few.

Murray plays as Cameron "Buck" Williams, a reporter who realizes that the world he lives in is not what it seems before the Tribulation period happens as described in the Bible. The role of Williams was first portrayed by "Growing Pains" and "Way of the Master" star Kirk Cameron in the original "Left Behind" movie trilogy. 

The release of the reboot of the "Left Behind" movie was just announced this afternoon. According to movie's official Facebook page, the company made the following announcement. 

"On October 3rd, join Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray, Cassi Thomson, Nicky Whelan & Jordin Sparks for the flight of a lifetime! SHARE this with your friends and make sure they don't get 'Left Behind.'"

The original "Left Behind: The Movie" was first released on VHS on September 4, 2000. Due to the film's success, the movie was then released in theaters on February 2, 2001 by Cloud Ten Pictures. The movie would have two successful sequels. The first sequel was "Left Behind II: Tribulation Force" which was released straight to DVD on October 29, 2002. The last film of the original trilogy was "Left Behind: World at War" which was released to VHS and DVD on October 25, 2005.

Samuel Goldwyn Films is releasing the "Left Behind" reboot movie later this year. "Left Behind" movie starring Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray, Nicky Whelan Cassi Thomson, Jordin Sparks and Lea Thompson will arrive in theaters on October 3rd, 2014.
