'League of Legends' New Champion Gnar Video: Abilities Explained, Gameplay Footage, Dino Skin Spotlight Showcase

A new 'League of Legends' champion has finally been announced, and this time it's a Yordle. Gnar, 'The Missing Link' has been confirmed as the new playable AD (attack damage) champion set to hit Summoner's Rift in an upcoming LoL patch.

A video has recently been released showcasing Gnar's abilities and style of play. Actual gameplay footage is shown in the video, which gives gamers the opportunity to see how he'll match up against some of the tougher Top lane champions.

Starting with his passive, "Rage Gene," Gnar gets the ability to transform from a Yordle into a beast of a creature. Basically, Gnar has to fill his rage bar in order to change into Mega Gnar, which gives him extra armor, magic resistance, health, attack damage, at the cost of movement speed, attack speed, and range.

Imporant: Gnar gets a new set of abilities when in his Mega Gnar form

Next up, Mini Gnar's "Q" which is called "Boomerang Throw" is a projectile that slows the first target it hits. Also, if the boomerang makes contact with additional enemies on its way back to Gnar, they are also slowed (diminishing returns). Additionally, if Gnar catches the boomerang, the cooldown on his move is reduced.

Mega Gnar's "Q" ability is the same, except he throws a boulder, which does AOE splash damage and slows all affected targets. If Gnar scoops this up after he's tossed it, the cooldown is also reduced.

Mini Gnar's "W" (called "Hyper") is a passive that makes every third attack deal a percentage of the target's max health as magic damage. He also gains a movement speed boost when this ability is triggered. With Mega Gnar's 'W" ("Wallop") the move becomes active, and turns into a frontal AOE stun.

"Hop" is Mini Gnar's "E" which allows him to perform a short jump anywhere within a medium sized radius. If he lands on top of a champion, he will slow them as well as bounce off and hop once more. With Mega Gnar's "E," called "Crunch," gamers should think of it as a shorter Zac launch without the charge time. He basically does a short leap forward damaging and slowing in an AOE splash.

Finally, the Ultimate move, which can only be used in Mega Gnar form, "GNAR!" With his "R" move, the champion can toss all nearby enemies around him in a chosen direction. Think of it as Xin Zhao's ultimate with the ability to pick where they get knocked back.

While there is no exact date for when Gnar 'The Missing Link' will be available, gamers should get ready for this exciting new Shyvana like Top laner.
