Lea Michele Pregnant Rumors: Twitter Hacking Sparks False Reports
Hackers continue to create mischief as they zero in on celebrities' Twitter accounts. The latest victim is Lea Michele, who's Twitter has been hacked over the weekend.
"Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy," a tweet read, published on her account.
The Glee star has confirmed that the tweet was false, and later tweeted "I was hacked!"
The hacking of the actress' account follows the hacking of her Glee co-star Chris Colfer's Twitter account last week.
A tweet published on Colfer's account said, "Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of Glee. Explanations will come shortly."
20th Century Fox responded quickly and confirmed that he is still employed.
"We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season," 20th Century Fox said in a statement.
The hacking of both Glee stars Twitter accounts within just a few days suggests that they may have been hacked by the same person. No other Glee cast members have been affected or targeted. Colfer's and Michele's Twitter accounts are also verified, as indicated by a blue tick beside their account names.
Glee wrapped up its Season 5 finale last May and is slated to return to the US schedule around January 2015. This will also be the final season for the TV series.
