‘Law & Order SVU’ Season 15 Spoilers, Cast Rumors: John Munch Returns for Final Episode; NBC Renews Season 16 [VIDEO]

There are just two weeks to go before Law & Order: SVU Season 15 wraps up with its finale on May 21. One of the longest running shows on U.S. TV, which premiered in 1999, Law & Order bases its storylines on real life crimes and incidents and transforms them into TV drama.

Loyal fans will be delighted with the most recent news, as NBC just announced its renewal for the network's flagship investigative drama just before their wrap party concluded May 7.

Richard Belzer, who is one of the original cast members, said that the announcement was a total surprise.

"It made it a special wrap party," he told Page Six on a lunch out with Sony/ATV's Martin Bandier, Steven Rattner, Matt Blank, and Richard LeFrank.

The last two episodes put the SVU team to another criminal case involving the rape and robbery of several male tourists, where one of the suspects has a significant role in Sergeant Benson's life. Meanwhile, Amaro is once again facing trouble with Internal Affairs. He then asks his friend Belzer for advice.

Law & Order: SVU Season 15 currently moved up the show rankings with a 2.5 viewer ratio of adults age 18 to 49. This comprises 8.4 million of total viewership from their time slot, a significant 19% increase in the age bracket category and 16% for the total viewing population.
