Lauren Becall Net Worth, Heirs: ‘To Have and Have Not’ and ‘The Mirror Has Two Faces’ Actress Survived By Children Sam, Leslie and Stephen (VIDEO)
Lauren Becall, one of the most distinguishable actresses of all time, has passed away, sparking thousands of fans to leave messages of condolence on social media sites and forums around the globe. She leaves behind her estate, worth approximately $20 million, which is believed to be inherited by her family, consisting of her children Stephen Humphrey Bogart, Leslie Bogart, Sam Robards.
Becall was born Betty Joan Perske in the Bronx, New York on September 16, 1924. Her most notable role was when she played and starred alongside 'Casablanca' actor Humphrey Bogart in the classic 'To Have and Have Not' film in 1944.
Becall and Bogart were married from 1945 until his death in 1957. Their relationship started as a affair that coincided with their filming of their first movie together. This was somewhat of a scandal, as Bogart had divorced his wife, Mayo Methot Bogart, in 1945 for Becall. The iconic couple starred in three films during the Golden age of cinema: 'The Big Sleep' (1946), 'Dark Passage' (1947) and 'Key Largo' (1948).
She would later marry her second husband Jason Robards in 1961, until they were divorced in 1969, due to his struggle with alcoholism.
After appearing in multiple films with legendary actors like Gary Cooper in 'Bright Leaf' (1950) and Marilyn Monroe in 'How to Marry a Millionaire' (1953) to name a few, she starred in many Broadway shows. During the 1970's and 1980's, she won Tony Awards for her role as Margo Channing in 'Applause' (1970) and her portrayal of Tess Harding in 'Woman of the Year' (1981).
Her other memorable role was Hannah Morgan in 'The Mirror Has Two Faces' (1996) when she co-starred with singer/actress Barbra Streisand in the popular romantic comedy-drama movie.
Becall is survived by her three adult children Stephen Humphrey Bogart, Leslie Bogart, Sam Robards. When she passed away on August 12, 2014, she was 89 years old.
