Laura Story's 'Blessings' Album Goes Gold, Joins Show Hope Concert May 26 in Nashville with Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman & Others
Laura Story was just awarded her first Gold certification from RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in March of this year for her album Blessings.
The singer songwriter released the fourth studio album back in 2011 and has seen much appraise for the single, and coincidently the name of the album, Blessings.
Today, the album has become the biggest commercial success by having debuted at No.2 on Billboard Christian albums chart, giving Story her highest placement ever. The single however reached No. 1 on the Christian songs chart which ultimately made her one of few women to ever reach No. 1 on top of the singles chart.
"Blessings is just a bunch of songs about worshipping when life is hard" stated Story. Her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and Story stated that she would just wonder to God, "Why don't you just fix it? You're all powerful and all loving..just fix it". That is where the true meaning of the song comes from, learning to still worship when life is so hard.
Laura also just recently published her first book called "What If your Blessings Came Through Raindrops". The book is a 30-day devotional that will ultimately lead the reader into a deeper understanding of Gods will and mysterious blessings that he rains upon us. The chapter titles include signature lines of the songs in her album including "What If Your Blessings Came Through Raindrops" and "He Loves Us Too Much To Give Us Lesser Things". Each of the chapters will give inspirational thoughts, prayers, and quotes that will end with a journaling page for the reader to write down their own Blessings that have been rained upon them during life.
Laura is also gearing up for a Summer full of concerts and tours with select artists as Casting Crowns and Steven Curtis Chapman. Laura will be in Nashville on May 26 at David Lipscomb University for the Show Hope celebration concert. A organization that was made to help adoption process be ultimately easier for young children. There, Laura will sing songs off of her Gold Album "Blessings" before Casting Crowns take the stage.
Laura just finished up the "3 in 1" Tour with Brandon Heath and Mandisa. The 23 city trek wrapped up on April 14, and partnered with "Food For The Hungry" to bring awareness to the global epidemic of hunger and to ultimately have proceeds help the organization feed the poor.
