Lady Gaga’s Assistant Jennifer O'Neill's Secret Lawsuit Against Her Goes to Trial

Lady Gaga's Assistant Jennifer O'Neill's Secret Lawsuit Against Her Goes to Trial

Lady Gaga's personal assistant is suing her in a lawsuit that will go from secret to public on November 4th, 2013. Jennifer O'Neill worked for Lady Gaga as her assistant in 2009 and then again in 2010 under separate contracts. Her claim is that Lady Gaga cheated her out of overtime wages and demanded that she remain on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  O'Neill said that Lady Gaga even went so far as to make the two sleep in the same bed just in case Gaga needed something in the middle of the night.

Lady Gaga sees this situation differently. It's no secret that Lady Gaga is one of the hardest working women in the music industry, and she expects her assistants to be no different. She was quoted as saying, "You don't get a schedule. You don't get a schedule that is like you pinch in and you can play... at your desk for four hours and then you punch out at the end of the day. This is when I need you, you're available."

The trial will officially go to court on November 4th and will no longer be a secret to the public. The judge has already ruled in favor of letting the lawsuit go to trial, but the ruling has not started yet. If Gaga loses the lawsuit, then she could owe O'Neill up to 7,000 hours of unpaid overtime wages.
