Tonight was the latest results show for American Idol on FOX.  After the Motown inspired performances last night, they are trimming the Top 8 down to the Top 7.  

Christian artist and American Idol alum, Colton Dixon performed his new single "Love Has Come For Me" on American Idol.  

Side note, what was the shirt that Lazaro had on tonight?

There was not much suspense for the ladies during the elimation tonight as all 5 were the first to be asked over to safety by Ryan Seacrest. 

Devin ended up the final man left out to sing for his save, which the judges can only give one a year.  Ryan Seacrest being the good host that he is, encouraged the judges to save Devin Velez and when they did not save him, Seacrest responded with, "Really? Wow!"  

So Devin was the one going home tonight. 

Kree Harrison, Angie Miller and Candice Glover still remain the favorites in the competition. 

Along with Colton Dixon, One Republic also performed with Katharine McPhee.  Idol Judge Keith Urban also gave a special performance of his new song, "Long Hot Summer".
