LA Lakers News, Rumors 2014: Kobe Bryant Condition, Confident About Winning NBA Title For Los Angeles Fans

In a recent Los Angeles roster and rumors update, Kobe Bryant disclosed that he is feeling healthy following several rounds of tough practices. At the same time, Bryant said that he was confident that the Lakers would silence their critics in 2014-15 NBA season.

In fact, in the 2013-14 NBA season, Bryant appeared in only six games as he was suffering from a knee fracture for most of the season. Unfortunately for Bryant, he sustained the injury just as when he was getting back to his old form and required major surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.

In an interview, the 16-time All-Star acknowledged that sustaining two straight major injuries was very tough for him. Nevertheless, he worked very hard to get healthy. Now, Bryant has reiterated that he is ready to lead the Lakers again.

Talking to Boston Globe, 36-year-old Bryant said, "It's a really tough injury, I'm not going to lie."

He added, "There are a lot of things going through your mind when something like that happens. I just went on my grind and just kind of chipped away at it day by day, and I feel pretty good as a result."

In the last season, Bryant averaged 13.8 points to go along with 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds. He is hopeful that the Lakers will bounce back strong after finishing with a below par 27-55 record.

This season, the Lakers endeavored to lure big-name free agents, but failed in their bid to acquire stars players like Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. As a substitute, the Lakers got Jeremy Lin in a trade and signed free agents Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis.

Although the Lakers do not have the best roster in the league, Bryant is hopeful that the Lakers' performance will surpass expectations. He pointed out that most players on their team, including him, have something to prove.

He said, "I think we have a lot of guys that have been kind of discarded, been forgotten about," adding, "Myself, with the injury and the age. Jeremy [Lin] and a bunch of players who other teams really felt they had no use for. So, we have that kind of attitude built into ourselves."

Bryant is also thrilled to play under first-year Lakers coach Byron Scott, and said that both of them have agreed that their goal is to win another title for Lakers fans.

Talking about Scott, Bryant said, "He agrees with me and this Laker organization that we're here for one reason only, and that's to hang championship banners. Not division banners. Not anything else."
