LA Lakers NBA Trade Rumors: Michael Beasley Trains with Kevin Durant, Heading to Lakers 2016?

LA Lakers have two spots left to fill on its 15 players bench this season after the acquisition of Ed Davis, Jeremy Lin, and Carlos Boozer came through. Other familiar faces will also join the lineup including Nick Young, Jordan Hill, Xavier Henry, and Ryan Kelly.

However, rumors are giving NBA fans and analysts the notion that Michael Beasley is being eyed by the LA Lakers.

Beasley, 25, first played in the NBA fresh from Kansas State University turning out to be one of the greatest freshman athletes of the 20th Century. He later joined Miami Heat in 2008 before clearing to play for Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010, where he led the team in victory against Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers in two consecutive seasons.

In 2012, Beasley, who was born in Maryland, joined Phoenix Suns before he went back to the Heat. Currently, he trains with Kevin Durant during LA Lakers training camp invites, which sparks rumors that Beasley is going to play with the team in 2016.

According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, "Several teams have expressed interest in free agent Michael Beasley. Teams like the efficiency and maturity he showed last season in Miami. Michael Beasley is currently training in LA with Kevin Durant. Lakers could make sense for Beasley. He'd be a good fit to fill out roster."

Even though Beasley makes a good candidate, his participation with the Lakers is still a long shot especially since manager Mitch Kupchak is looking to establish sustainable relationships amongst his players. History shows that Beasley did not have a smooth farewell with the Phoenix Suns and had only played four out of 20 playoffs upon his return to Miami Heat last year.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles has given Young a four-year $21.5 million contract while Hill is renewed for another two years with a combined $18 million bond. Also, Ryan Kelly will be playing for two years with a $3.3 million deal while Johnson and Henry are both given one-year deals.
