LA Lakers NBA 2014 News: Tracy McGrady Rumored Comeback News, Former NBA Star Will Not Return to the NBA

Former NBA All-Star player Tracy McGrady axed the rumors claiming he was coming back to the NBA to play for the Los Angeles Lakers and said he had no plans at all to end his retirement.

The rumors sparked after an interview with Bleacher Report, where McGrady was quoted saying that he was looking at the L.A. Lakers as his ideal team, and that they were inexperienced and definitely needed new players. He also said that the he could play alongside Lakers player Kobe Bryant and be the second star of the team.

However, it all seemed to be more nostalgia and story-telling than a desire to come back, as the player himself dispelled all rumors through a post on his official Facebook page.

The 35-year-old wrote that he knew rumors are going around after many read his Bleacher Report article, but he clarified that he had no plans on coming back to the NBA.

"I'm a happily retired man," he wrote, "Always appreciate the love you all give but my playing days are no more. Onto other ventures."

McGrady officially retired from the NBA in 2013, and during his career, he had a career average of 4.4 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 19.6 points per game, and was also on top of the scoreboards during seasons 2002 to 2003 and 2003 to 2004, according to Sports Illustrated.

Since his retirement, he made four appearances with the independent baseball team Sugar Land Skeeters and pitched for the team.

The former player was also busy with his business ventures, which focused on helping athletes learn about controlling their money, a lesson McGrady learned from years of battling injuries and having his gameplay go up and down.

His business plan is still being designed, but the idea has been years in the making and will be a way to help players who are new to their new found NBA salary wealth.
