"The Hills" and "Laguna Beach" alum Kristin Cavallari "s brother and NFL quarterback Jay Cutler's brother-in-law, Michael Cavallari, may have passed away due to hypothermia.

Officials told E!News that Michael had most likely dies from prolonged exposure to the "elements." According to the law enforcement staff, Michael's body had been found three miles from where his car had been wrecked in the high desert of Grand County, Utah.

Medically, the officials revealed in the same interview that there had been no signs of major trauma and no suicide note. They added that cops had not found any evidence o drugs or alcohol either.

After his car was found abandoned off Interstate 70 in Utah by ground and dog search teams, Cavallari was reported missing in late November.

In his interview with Access Hollywood, Grand County Sheriff Steven White detailed that th teams sort of had convened at the same place at the same time and nearly 30 people had been involved in the search on the day they found Michael's body. He added that nobody had given up until they had found him.

White suggested that hypothermia might have been the cause of Michael's death. In the same interview, he said that as for the final cause of death, he could not say until he got the autopsy result back.

The official cause of death is still unknown; however, it is believed that the "operating theory" was what had eventually killed Michael. The Utah medical examiner in Salt Lake City has Michael's body and results in toxicology reports are yet to be revealed in the next six to eight weeks.

On Dec. 10, Kristin took to Instagram a photo of her and Michael when they were young. In caption she wrote, "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."
