Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals will be competing for two valuable points when they clash in the penultimate game of the first phase of the Indian Premier League 2014 played in the Middle East.

While both team are equally placed on the Points Table, each earning four points from four outings, Rajasthan (+0.497) has a slender edge over their Kolkata rivals (+0.193), as they enjoy a superior run rate.

In their previous match, Kolkata wavered to overcome the 133-run target set by the in-form Kings XI Punjab batsmen losing the game by 23 runs. On the other hand, the Rajasthan team is in high spirits after crushing the fancied Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets.

Although KKR has two wins in their kitty, they need to sort out their batting problems before they face Rajasthan. The dismal form of skipper Gautam Gambhir, who scored three ducks in the first three matches and just five runs against Punjab, is the main concern for the team.

The team, therefore, relies heavily on the veteran Jacques Kallis and young Manish Pandey to keep the score board ticking. In the bowling division, West Indian Sunil Narine has been consistent, scalping nine wickets from 16 overs; with an economy rate of 4.93 runs per over.

On the other hand, Rajasthan boys have been much improved, especially on the bowling front, in their last match against Bangalore. The bowlers packed off the formidable Bangalore batting line-up including skipper Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh, for a paltry 70 runs - the third lowest in the history of IPL. However, the team's concern lies in its batting department, which often faltered while chasing even a modest target. Hence, Coach Rahul Dravid needs to sit with his batsmen to sort out these issues before his boys face Narine.
