Kingdom Hearts 3 & Final Fantasy XV Release Date News: Square Enix Sets Games For 2015 Launch
A lot of fans have been anticipating two new games coming from legendary RPG creator Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts III, and Final Fantasy XV.
The long awaited games are prepped to come out on the next-gen consoles, the Sony Playstation 4, and the Xbox One. However, the games won't be coming out until sometime in 2015. Despite a lot of rumors circulating around the Internet of a 2014 release, Square Enix has dispelled most of them and announced that the games would be coming out in 2015.
Right now, the company's focus is completing Kingdom Hearts 2.5 for the 2014 release. It might seem that the development of Kingdom Hearts 2.5 would be getting in the way of Kingdom Hearts III's development (and maybe even Final Fantasy XV's). Tai Yusue, the game's co-director, however said that the development of Kingdom Hearts 2.5 isn't getting in the way of the development of the third installment.
"We've been working full throttle. It's moving along. We structured out team in a way that development of 2.5 doesn't impede Kingdom Hearts III. I'm actually very excited about Kingdom Hearts III," Yusue told GameInformer.
Final Fantasy XV would probably share a Spring 2015 release date with Kingdom Hearts III. Originally, the game was looking for a 2014 release, but Square Enix has decided to push that back to 2015.
Part of the probable reason that the release date is being pushed back is because of the lower sales rating of their games, by means of poor hype and marketing. The 2015 release hopefully sees a better introduction, and better hype generation for the upcoming games.
Originally, the game was titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII and was introduced during the 2006 E3 Sony Conference. Production didn't officially start until 2011 where it received a name change during last year's E3 Conference.
